Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel (5 mins by car)
AA Hotel of the Year, Wales, 2009/10

Accomodation     Penmancheuf Hall

The description ‘country house hotel’ has become devalued of late, thrown around as it now is with great abandon and little discrimination, but of all the luxury country house hotels in North Wales, few can offer the romantic charm, luxury, style and supreme comfort of Penmeanuchaf Hall near Penmaenpool. With a stunning outlook across the Mawddach Estuary, a short stroll to the Mawddach Trail and the market town of Dolgellau nearby, the hotel is ideally situated for its guests to enjoy exploring North Wales and the Snowdonia National Park.

The Garden Room Restaurant offers a light and elegant setting for sampling the highest quality local food and fine wines. If that were not enough, there’s also Penmaenuchaf Hall’s prize location set amidst twenty acres of peaceful, Welsh woodland and listed gardens with stunning views to the southern Snowdonia and Mawddach Estuary.

Beyond the romantic charm of the hotel lies a wealth of outdoor activities and a host of interesting and entertaining places to visit – the very best that Snowdonia has to offer. From an overnight short break to a romantic weekend ‘a deux’, Penmaenuchaf Hall promises a very special stay. And should a romance really blossom the hotel is also licensed for Civil Weddings and Civil Partnerships!!

Ty'n y Cornel Hotel (15mins by car)

Accomodation

At the very southern end of Snowdonia, is a most beautiful lake - Tal-y-Llyn, at the foot of Cader Idris, the second highest mountain in Wales. And located on the banks of this stunning water is Ty'n y Cornel Hotel, deep in the fold of dramatic, steep-sided mountains.

The hotel is well known for its typically friendly Welsh atmosphere, and has been extensively refurbished. As well as being accommodated in the main house, guests can also stay in adjacent character rooms converted from old farm buildings, or in newer deluxe rooms. All rooms are equipped to a four star standard. In the public rooms, comfortable chairs and fine antiques make this a charming haven to enjoy a fine meal, a glass of wine, or a traditional Welsh cream tea.

The 222 acre lake is owned by the hotel, and is noted for its superb wild brown trout fishing. Our guests enjoy priority access to Tal-y-Llyn's waters together with fine river fishing.

We look forward to welcoming you,

Phil Thomas, General Manager.
